“Laissez les bon temps rouler!” is the slogan for New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations and translates as “Let the good times roll.” Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday,” the day before Ash Wednesday, and the start of 45 days of Lent. For some, Lent means fasting or giving up something decadent. A Mardi Gras menu provides rich, flavorful foods to celebrate the season. We are probably most familiar with the New Orleans’ version and its food. In this class you will learn to make a Cajun, Creole and Southern style influenced feast – wearing beads is optional!
